There are 3 types of carpet weaves:
Cut Pile: It consists of yarns which are cut at the ends. There are five basic cut pile carpets: Velvet, saxony, frieze, shag and cable. They are varied according to the number of yarn twists. Carpets with longer pile such as shag and frieze carpet are more lasting and stain-resistant. Shorter piles are often plush and comfortable underfoot
Loop Pile: It is made of uncut yarns looped and uncut on carpet surface. The pile varies, from low to high. Loop piles are more lasting than cut pile carpets. It can withstand heavy foot movement, vacuum marks and furniture indentation. Berber is the most popular kind of loop carpet and can be set as level-loop or multi-loop.
Cut and Loop Pile: Also known as sculpted carpets, Cut and Loop Pile carpets combine high cut tufts and lower loops. They are perfect for high-traffic areas.

Wool: Natural soil resistant but not stain resistant. Doesn’t need much to maintain it. Easily absorb and retain moisture – not ideal for hot and humid areas.
Cotton: Light, soft, heat-resistant, and lasting if tightly weaved. Retains moisture and stain.
Polypropylene: Good resistant over stain and moisture. Perfect for loop pile construction or high dense cut piles.
Nylon: Stain resistant, durable, soft and hold colour well. Perfect choice for homes with children and pets, and heavy foot traffic areas.
Polyester: Luxury looking and can come in varied colours and styles. Ideal for homes which want to look grand.
Bamboo Silk: A natural viscose fiber which is lasting, hypoallergenic and antibacterial. Can be put in high traffic areas without matting or wear.
Acrylic: Not as durable as nylon but can be plush and soft as wool and not easily stain or moist.
Viscose Yarn: Classic Persian designs with a good blend of colors. Traditional looking with strength and durability. Suitable for heavy domestic use.
